I'm glad you are here.
This site was birthed out of some conversations I had with some friends about our knowledge or lack there of about money, investment, & interest. For me, I was a National Merit Scholar, went to a college prep high school and have both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. I have taught in both public and private schools, started a company in the US and internationally, but until recently, still felt very, very limited in my knowledge about money and investment.
So I started asking around about how my peers felt. Now I have friends and family in top graduate school programs, and that are doctors and lawyers, business executives and Starbucks baristas, general contractors and window washers.
And regardless the stage of life, the socioeconomic background, education background or work experience, over and over I hear the same thing from people- they are confused about money and confused about investment.
Do You Have These Questions?
Common questions I hear are:
- Why didn't they teach me about money in schools?
- We make a lot of money, but each month I wonder where it all goes?
- I just got an inheritance, but I have no clue what to do with it?
- My parents just told me not to bounce the checkbook, what else should I know about money?
The recent crash of the economy, the loss of jobs and the uncertainty of the future add to the common feeling of interest in how to manage money and how to make investments.
Do You Want To Change Your Life... Change Your Community... Change Your World?
If those topics stir a desire in you, I encourage you to get involved in this site. My goal is that this would be a community of shared knowledge about money and investment.
But I will say this, the purpose in my heart at the outset of this journey is not for us to learn about how to have a 3rd car or an extra house. My purpose is that as we learn about finances and investment, we could change our lives. And beyond our lives, we could change our communities. And beyond, our communities we could change our world.
